Millar Communication Strategies, Inc., local marketing communications
firm, is a silver winner in the 2011 Summit Creative Award® competition for its creative work in a marketing campaign of three ads for MD Logistics, Inc., of Plainfield, Indiana. The silver award was earned in the Business-to-Business Trade Publication category. This award joins the company's four previous Summit Creative awards they've earned over the past years.

“We are excited that the Summit judges appreciated our efforts at expressing serious business messages for MDL that contained just a little splash of humor, also,” commented Kay Millar, CEO of Millar Communication Strategies. “Our art director, Brad Luther, did a superb job of juxtaposing visual images that support the client’s messages about cold chain services, avoiding shipping surprises and the worldwide speed of MDL services.”

Special thanks to the entire team who worked to create these ads. The competition was stiff with thousands of entries from 22 countries in 23 categories and MCSi took the title! (See the ads above)

Dan Millar Quoted in the National Post as Crisis Expert around Japan's Nuclear Crisis

Dan Millar as Quoted in the National PostIn light of the nuclear crisis in Japan, the National Post (Toronto, Canada) interviewed crisis expert Dan Millar, President of Millar Communication Strategies, on how leadership and the media are portraying the events surrounding the nuclear crisis. When asked about Europe's energy chief's use of the term "apocalypse" when describing the nuclear crisis, Dan said, “This sort of language is definitely inappropriate, and I wish people in a position of authority would speak more reasonably — not dishonestly, but more reasonably.”

Mr. Millar said public officials should be far more sensitive not only to the jitteriness of the financial marketplace, but also to the Japanese people who are facing the threat of a nuclear meltdown.

“You can scare people to death,” he said. “Apocalypse — that’s the end of the world. We’re a long way from the end of the world.”
